Yahoo blog is going to release Yahoo Messenger soon for iPod Touch and iPhone, but to get you covered for now you can use many other apps that have Yahoo Messenger included.

Skype for iPod Touch Release Date Tuesday March 31st

Skype is releasing App for iPod Touch and iPhone tomorrow via iTunes. iPod Touch users will use skype with embedded mic and earphones.

Yep iPod Touch (OS) 3.0 firmware leaked today on torrent, so feel free to download it today and see beta style. Thing is that I would maybe not recommend all people to download this iPod Touch 3.0 firmware because it's beta and you know how beta stuff works right?
